Stump - Quirk Out

1986 UK mini-album. Never reissued as a standalone
release and not available on vinyl since the '80s.

7" single from 2005.

Method

Audio is captured at 192KHz/32-bit. De-clicking is performed manually wherever possible (frequent exceptions being run in/run out grooves, the tail end of fade-outs and the spaces between tracks). Other techniques are used sparingly. I believe that processing should only be undertaken cautiously and with the aim of minimizing vinyl imperfections without compromising the musical signal.

Lineage is as follows: Okki Nokki record cleaning machine > Dual 505-3 (with modified plinth, sub-platter, suspension & interconnect) and Shure V15-III/Jico SAS > Cambridge Audio Azur 651P (sub-sonic filter: on) > EMU 1820M (using its TFPro mic preamps) > Windows 7 PC > iZotope RX3 Advanced > Foobar2000 / Tag&Rename (FLACs & tagging). The interconnects are Sommer Cable (SC-Onyx 2025 Mk II from the turntable and SC-Peacock Mk II from the phono preamp to the ADC) with Neutrik plugs. I use AKG studio headphones.
